A Small-amount Short-term Insurance Provider Bringing Customers Peace of Mind through Unique Products

SBI Resta SSI handles small-amount short-term insurance, as insurance category created by the April 2006 amendment of the Insurance Business Law.

Small-amount short-term insurance is insurance with a smaller insured value and a shorter term than either ordinary life insurance or nonlife insurance.

SBI Resta SSI's provision of small-amount short-term insurance covers earthquake indemnity insurance to compensate for the living and rebuilding expenses of earthquake victims. In the aftermath of recent earthquakes, making provisions for earthquakes in Japan has become broadly recognized as an issue that must be addressed. Under these conditions, earthquake indemnity insurance bears the major responsibility of making provisions through a simple design to prepare for earthquakes that nature may suddenly visit upon Japan. It has become well regarded as insurance that responds to customers' needs.

We have also established the ideal system for ensuring claims payments through contracts with reinsurers. And for the damage from the Great East Japan Earthquake, which is still fresh in our minds, we have been making our insurance payouts in full without any reductions.

Going forward, so that we can serve all customers through this form of earthquake preparation, we will promote the spread of earthquake indemnity insurance and further develop new products that take advantage of the flexibility of small-amount short-term insurance in order to excel at addressing customer needs with the aim of expanding our business.
