Development of Next Generation of Leaders at SBI Graduate School

In 2006, the SBI Group established SBI University Co., Ltd., the predecessor of SBI Graduate School, to make a full-fledged commitment to human resource development as one of our direct social contribution activities, and SBI University had provided learning opportunities through public lectures and other means.

In November 2007, the SBI Group received approval from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) to establish the Educational Corporation of SBI Graduate School and SBI Graduate School, and officially opened the SBI Graduate School in April 2008. SBI Graduate School has been implementing education focusing on "Tokuiku" (moral philosophy) and "Jitsugaku" (practical science) to develop "Jinbutsu" (talented human resources) equipped with solid ethical values and scientific management theory.
Eiichi Shibusawa, in his book "Rongo to Soroban" (The Analects of Confucius and the Abacus), taught the theory of "Dōtokukeizaigōitsu" (the union of morality and economy). SBI Graduate School also teaches economics, management, and various studies necessary for students to start their own businesses based on "humanities studies."
We have designed an educational curriculum based on the premise that students will acquire the understanding of “humanities studies”, which is indispensable for business leaders, by using the Chinese classics, especially the “Four Books and Five Classics,” and the history of modern Japanese thought as textbooks, to train management professionals who possess practical skills rather than mere theory.
In addition, SBI Graduate School recruits students from a wide range of backgrounds, targeting those who have worked in the business world from the viewpoint of the early development of leaders who can take charge of Japan's future. Classes are basically offered through e-learning via the internet for the purpose of enabling these people to take classes while working so that most classes can be taken without restrictions on time and location.

Established in April 2008 with the support of the SBI Group, which endeavors to become a "New Industry Creator," the MBA program is a distance learning (online) college authorized by the MEXT.
SBI Graduate School provides a place for businessperson who are able to start their own businesses with entrepreneurial spirit to acquire an MBA (Master of Business Administration) while improving their "human qualities".
