It has come to our attention that a cryptocurrency staking service called “stablepool.io” is claiming a false partnership with the group company TaoTao Incorporation (currently SBI VC Trade Co., Ltd.). According to the reports that we have received, once the individuals deposit their cryptocurrencies into this service, the funds could not be withdrawn.
TaoTao Incorporation, or any other SBI Group companies, have never partnered with such services. We advise individuals to never deposit any funds since it is highly like to be fraudulent.
In addition, the service and trade name “TAOTAO” and “TaoTao” is no longer in use since TaoTao Incorporation merged with SBI VC Trade Co., Ltd. in December 2021. Please be vigilant, and if you find any suspicious websites claiming to partner with TaoTao or any other Companies or services of the SBI Group, please contact us at inq-all@sbigroup.co.jp.
It has come to our attention that a person or persons unaffiliated with the SBI Group are contacting individuals on Instagram and Telegram by impersonating our Group, asking for the transfer or investment of your funds to SBI Group's mining pool. Recipients of such communications are advised never to make any of these actions as SBI group companies never solicit via SNS. It has come to our attention that a person or persons unaffiliated with the SBI Group is making contact with individuals by impersonating SBI VC Trade. According to the reports that we have received, they have gotten in touch with individuals telling them to register and deposit money (or cryptocurrencies in some instance) to a fraudulent website or app impersonating SBI VC Trade. The deposits will not be returned, and in some cases, they would further demand deposits, ostensibly for tax reasons as a process to withdraw the deposit and take more cash and/or cryptocurrencies from the individuals.
SBI VC Trade's services are available only in Japanese and are only offered towards individuals or companies that reside in Japan. In addition, SBI VC Trade currently does not offer any services or apps in English. Recipients of such communications are advised never to make any payments of money or provide any personal information. It has come to our attention that a person or persons unaffiliated with the SBI Group is sending emails to people impersonating the SBI Group. In at least one instance, they sent out an email stating that the SBI Group is offering employment. As a part of that offer, they sent a check in certain amount. They requested the person to deposit that money into the person's bank account and then electronically transfer the same amount back to their bank account.
Please be vigilant about and disregard these types of emails impersonating the SBI Group. We do not issue checks as a part of our hiring process, nor do we ask the candidate to electronically transfer funds.
