Support for Abused Children through the SBI Children's Hope Foundation
SBI Group works to improve children's welfare to contribute directly to society.
While the declining birthrate has been a concern, the number of cases that child counseling centers are consulted for child abuse has been increasing, having exceeded 210,000 in FY2022.* The number of children who are placed in foster homes due to abuse or neglect is increasing every year, with many reported cases of children abused by their parents, who should love them more than anyone else. This is an extremely deplorable problem.
SBI Group believes that human resources are the greatest assets in Japan, where natural resources are scarce, and an environment and society where children with infinite possibilities are loved and grow up healthy are essential for the bright future of the country. Based on this belief, the Group is actively involved in initiatives including the support for abused or neglected children to become self-reliant and improve their welfare, with the SBI Children's Hope Foundation taking the lead in the project.
SBI Group will continue to raise awareness about the improvement of children's welfare with enthusiasm and a sense of mission to ensure children's welfare and focus its efforts on activities that support children to dream and have hope to grow into self-reliant, respected adults in the future.

SBI Children's Hope Foundation
SBI Children's Hope Foundation was established in October 2005 as a foundation which carries out social contribution activities for the SBI Group to improve the welfare of children in difficult circumstances, such as being abused or neglected. In March 2010, it became a Public Interest Incorporated Foundation.
The activities of the foundation include a project subsidizing the downsizing of foster homes for abused or neglected children, granting to child welfare facilities, training the staff of foster homes, and helping children become self-reliant after leaving those facilities. The foundation is also actively engaged in raising awareness to prevent child abuse, including the promotion of the Orange Ribbon Campaign.

Initiatives for the improvement of children's welfare
SBI Children's Hope Foundation granted a total of approx. 1,212 million yen from the fiscal year ended March 31, 2006 to the fiscal year ended March 31, 2024. Nineteen training sessions have been held for facility staffs, and the number of graduates has reached approximately 1,900.
In addition, the SBI Children's Hope Foundation also supports the Orange Ribbon Campaign, a public awareness campaign for preventing child abuse. During November every year, which is Child Abuse Prevention Month in Japan, officers and employees wear orange ribbons and engage in awareness-raising activities both inside and outside the Group. In FY2023, our corporate group employees purchased approximately 1.4 million yen in Orange Ribbon Goods, as an activity to raise awareness towards child abuse.
The foundation also supports Kodomo Terrace — To Zero for Children, a project whose goal is reducing the number of instances of child abuse to zero. It is promoted by FM OSAKA Broadcasting Co., Ltd. and the Japan Children Support Association, an NPO. The foundation sponsors a radio program of the same name as a project that FM OSAKA began broadcasting in April 2021, thus expanding the initiatives supporting the project.
